Done for Fuzzypaws Tori are the rarest and most mysterious of the common races, and a source of great curiosity to most. Immortal mechanized corvid birds with feathers of shimmering glass and powerful jets hidden under their four wings, they are built with a technology far in excess of the rest of the world. Though creatures of artifice, they have souls and can even rise again in undeath. They appear in small numbers each day on the dark side of Vire as the planet comes into alignment with the Dark Messenger, with no memory of where they come from and no background that any magic can pierce.

Races of Vire -- Ryuko by Rick Griffin

Done for Fuzzypaws Ryuko are very tall draconic saurians, standing 9 to 11 feet in height with raptor-like features and brilliantly shining metallic hides. Descended from the remnants of a fractured god, every ryuko carries the spark of divine power within him and is as much spirit as mortal, though he will still age and die with time. Passionate and hot-blooded, ryuko feel and do nothing by half-measure, and are given to grand works and huge monuments. Ryuko are the most politically powerful of the common races, deferring only to the dragons who sit at the top of the Virian heirarchy, and very nearly every structure in the known world is built to accomodate their size first and the so-called "lesser" races second.

Races of Vire -- Nook by Rick Griffin

Done for Fuzzypaws Nook are playful and incredibly limber mustelids combining the features of a ferret, raccoon, and otter. Almost unbelievably lucky, fate bends itself like a pretzel to accommodate the nook without any conscious effort on their part, something that promotes headaches and irritability in the otherwise prescient hiri. This inculcates a cheerful and freewheeling spirit, that is rarely bowed and almost never broken, because they know things will usually turn out well in the end. It also leads to them being banned from most gambling halls, something not helped by their short attention spans and klepto tendencies. (I'm playing one in his campaign!)

Done for Fuzzypaws Jora are tiny squirrel-like foxes that are always born as twins who share a single soul. Deeply connected, they share an empathic link across any distance, constantly finish each others' sentences, and are able to examine both sides of any problem simultaneously. Much smaller than any of the other races, they constantly struggle for recognition and respect. This leads many to military service, where their gift for strategy is unrivaled and always appreciated, and to magic, where their size is not a disadvantage to them.

Done for Fuzzypaws Garo are tall and lanky catlike lupines who see the world as divided into the seen and unseen, and walk both paths at once. Sly, urbane, and silver-tongued, they are as subtle and agile in conversation as they are on their feet, and are naturally given to the intrigues and comforts of civilization and the dragon courts. Able to stride freely over water and mist and even to briefly become as insubstantial as the shadows they favor, there is very little that can keep a garo from getting wherever he wants to go or learning the secrets that are his life's blood.

Done for Fuzzypaws Draj are a playful but determined race of draconic quadrupeds, roughly 8 to 10 feet in length and covered from head to toe in soft fur. Very fast and highly mobile, they can climb and swim as quickly and easily as they run. They place the success of the family or group above themselves, and allow themselves to be ridden by bipeds they trust, but are driven to prove themselves as capable as any biped. Draj are highly magical, and all draj have a connection to nature and a limited ability to work magic from the sign under which they are born.

Races of Vire -- Akkedis by Rick Griffin

Done for Fuzzypaws Akkedis are a semiaquatic race of snakelike plant creatures, "standing" six to seven feet tall and far longer than that. Though built similarly to the other races, their plant nature shines through in their sap "blood" and vine-like "flesh." Having only a single gender, they are pollinated by the akkedia butterfly, which they bring with them everywhere they dwell and also cultivate for silk production. As they are not driven by hormones they have reserved personalities, but are not entirely emotionless, and enjoy indulging in subtle insults that seem like compliments.

Done for Fuzzypaws Hiri are semi-marsupial jackalopes who stand astride the present and the future. Incredibly perceptive to a degree that intimidates many, their vision extends even into the near future and allows them to act impulsively with a zen detachment from conscious thought that rarely leads them wrong. Strong in their beliefs and very assertive in personality, they naturally take the lead in any situation.
